The EV9 is a three-row SUV with swivel captain’s chairs in the second row. These captain’s chairs can rotate through 180 degrees.
During the Automobile Show of 2023, Kia presented its EV9 idea to the public. Now, the automaker has unveiled the production model of the all-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).
Kia’s E-GMP platform underpins the Kia EV9, which serves as the company’s flagship electric vehicle (EV) for the international market. The front fascia of the SUV has been redesigned to have a sleek appearance and features a blanked-off grille along with a vertical LED headlamp that incorporates Daytime running lights made of LEDs that contour to the body.
It also has LED tail lights, squared-off wheel arches, and flush-fitting door handles, but instead of 23-inch alloy wheels, it has 21-inch wheels. The concept had 23-inch alloys.
The same contemporary and forward-looking aesthetic can be seen within the EV9’s cabin as can be seen on the exterior.
The electronic gauge cluster and the information and entertainment system with a touchscreen are both housed under a huge screen that is located in the center of the dashboard, which has a simple yet modern look and is complemented by a four-spoke steering wheel.
The EV9 is a three-row SUV that features a second row and contains captain’s chairs that are able to swivel through an entire 180 degrees. In addition, the passengers in the third row have their own individual control panel for the vehicle’s climate control system.
An 800V architecture underpins the Kia EV9, which utilises this platform. Kia has not disclosed the complete list of technical specifications, but the company plans to offer a maximum driving range of 543 kilometres.
It is possible that the sport-utility vehicle will be obtainable in both a single-motor and a dual-motor configuration. It is estimated that the variant of the GT-Line S with two motors can accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in five seconds.
The Kia EV6 is currently available for purchase in the Indian market. For the time being, the automobile manufacturer does not have any intentions of releasing its all-electric full-size SUV model in the Indian market.
